Their all-new, next-generation FINA and NFHS-approved game water polo ball is born from Mikasa's advanced technology, with an improved omnidirectional wet grip and overall quality and consistency improvements. Gone are the old buffed surfaces that dominated the construction of older model water polo balls, and provided uneven grip characteristics depending on the direction of the buffing. Mikasa's new premium foam rubber cover is smooth, and secures a wet grip force without buffing. The wet grip force (dynamic friction / static friction) is improved by roughly 26% in all directions. In addition, the softness (flexibility) of foam rubber makes the ball easier to grip and fits better in the hand.
